3 Cities in 7 Days - Barcelona, Spain

We left a sunny morning in Nice behind and went to the airport to catch our flight to Barcelona. We were super excited and had huge expectations about this city! This is one of the main cities in Europe to visit, but neither one of us had been in Barcelona before. Our plane landed safely after the sunset and we were anxious to go explore the city in the morning.

Our great hotel had bikes available for their customers. We decided to use this opportunity on our first day, as we wanted to see the city and didn't want to spend any time in the metro. This ended up being a very good plan and we got a nice overview of the city and the beaches. This city has such a good vibe and there's things to do for days! We were loving the mixture of old and new architecture.

The next morning we used the public transportation and went to see some of Antoni Gaudís incredible work around the city. He has left astonishing pieces of art behind for later generations to see, even though his greatest and biggest work the Sagrada Família -cathedral is still in the works. After lunch we wanted take to a little rest and went down to the beach to relax. Couple of hours later we were heading back to our hotel, when Samuel started talking to a guy who rents electric bicycles. We got to try them out and we were hooked! We rented them out the next morning which was so much fun! Barcelona is such a good place for biking. There's bike lanes everywhere.

Barcelona is full of life! There is many good shopping streets and you can easily lose track of time and shop till you drop.

Our tips for Barcelona:

  • Rent an electric bicycle
  • Great beaches are right by the city, but if you want more privacy, you should head north along the coast
  • Bring your longboard or skateboard along, Barcelona is made for skateboarding
  • The heart of delicious tapas food

3 Cities in 7 Days - Nice, France

We collaborated with a Finnish Travel agency Tjäreborg to make an epic 7 day trip through 3 beautiful cities in Southern Europe. First stop was Nice in France. This was a first time to visit Nice for both of us and we were very excited for our time there. Nice is an amazing city, where you can choose to spend your days laying on the beach and have a refreshing swim in the sea or explore the colourful streets of the beautiful city.

We arrived to Nice when it was already dark and we just dropped our stuff to the hotel. Then headed to have some dinner in the city. We had been excited to go and see the beach in the morning, but it was actually little rainy the next day which in not normal for Nice. It wasn't raining much and it didn't stop us from enjoying the city. We ended up renting city bikes by our hotel, which we think was the best decision to make on our visit in Nice. When you rent a city bike, you can always return the bike to a bike station located around the city and go on foot when you wan't to see something more closely. We got a very good picture of the whole city when we biked and explored the streets. The next day forecast said that the weather will be perfect and we decided to head over to the La Tour Bellanda to catch the sunrise. It is such a nice place to see the beach and the city when the sun rises. After seeing the beautiful sunrise it was time to head over to the beach before leaving to the airport to catch our flight to Barcelona, Spain.

Book your holiday in Nice here!

Our tips for Nice, France:

  • Rent a bike to see more of the city.
  • See the sunrise or the sunset on La Tour Bellanda
  • Have a nice Italian dinner at La Pizza Cresi
  • Shop fresh fruits and bakings at Place Charles Félix in the morning.

Colours of Lapland

We have visited Lapland multiple times in the winter and spring, but never have we seen it without snow. This year we wanted to make sure that we would head up there and see the nature in all the beautiful Autumn colours called "ruska" in Finnish. We set the time and Visit Finland was kind enough to help us make the trip happen.

We packed the car and headed towards the North of Finland. Whole drive was a beautiful trip through the roads along the autumn coloured forests. We arrived to our destination Äkäslompolo in Ylläs when it was already dark. Even on our first night we were able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We were excited for the next few days that we were going to spend there.

The best time to see the Autumn colours in Lapland is usually the two middle weeks of September. If you want to catch the Northern Lights, you should head to Lapland in the beginning of Fall or in the beginning of Spring.

Here are some photos and a video of our hiking and camping around the Ylläs area. Enjoy!
