This trip was in collaboration with Visit Trentino. All the opinions and reviews are completely my own and truthful. I had such an amazing time and I can recommend it honestly!
I recently went on a winter adventure to Trentino, Italy . The local tourism board had chosen me to be the winter ambassador for the region, and my job was to experience some of the amazing activities and enjoy the culture the area has to offer.
People always make such a huge part of the adventures and the feeling the trip gives you. I had such an amazing experience with all the people in the hotels, guides and restaurants. I really only met people who love the place where they live and enjoy the work they are doing and you can definitely feel that!
Getting there:
Only a quick flight from Helsinki and a little road trip from Milan airport to the mountains and you can find yourself in the heart of the Dolomites skiing, ice climbing, snowshoeing or even riding huskies. There’s also a bus transfer available from the nearby airports!
Day activities:
Trentino area has a variety of different things to do, of course skiing being the most common thing out of them, which they for sure do well! There’s so many long and nicely groomed ski slopes, that we in the North can only dream of… except now by coming here! If you are not so keen to go to the slopes, you could go hiking or snowshoeing for example. There are many Refugio’s where you can hike up to and have a cup of coffee or enjoy lunch! Some more special things to do are paragliding and kite boarding which I also got to try. What an experience it was! I can’t forget bob sledding, which has to be one of the funnies things to do with your friends in the area!
Evenings:
After being outside doing all the fun activities it’s time to relax in the spa. Many of the hotels in the region have their own spa areas, which is super nice! After relaxing for a bit, it’s time to go and enjoy the amazing cuisine! There’s very nice traditional dishes available in Trentino and of course the Italian food and drink culture never disappoints anyone!!! I was able to see some nice family owned special restaurants, that were definitely something that stood out from the already nice range of restaurants.
Driving:
You are able to get around with a bus in the area, but I had a car for the whole time. The roads were well maintained and easy to drive. The mountain passes can be tricky especially if there’s fresh snow, but I only had to put on the chains once on my trip.
Here are the links to the regions I visited. You can plan your stay and see more about the areas!
